NYC singer-songwriter Odetta Hartman has shared her latest single ‘Widow’s Peak‘. Taken from her new album ‘Old Rockhounds Never Die‘, ‘Widow’s Peak’ is a sonically diverse palette of sounds that only Odetta Hartman can conjure up. Odetta says about the track:
“Sometimes lightning strikes and an entire song reveals itself in an instant. Sometimes I feel like a vessel, channeling stories from beyond, and this spooky tale certainly sounds like it came from another world. With the intention of playing a fiddle solo, I sound-checked the violin in multiple rooms. Thanks to a happy accident, we played back all of the test takes together and fell in love with the wall of sound. At the end, we featured a prayer call & street sounds from our walk through Fez. Of all the songs on the record, I am most proud of this composition.”

Menace Beach share music video for 'Black Rainbow Sound'
Menace Beach have shared the kaleidoscopic music video for their single ‘Black Rainbow Sound (feat. Brix Smith)‘.
Speaking about the video, Liza Violet said: “It was created by Sara Serna who is a collage animator, graphic artist and musician living in Medellin, Columbia. We’ve been chatting about doing a collaboration for a while after we got friendly via Instagram. I love that she seems to get a lot of imagery from her local area and a lot of her artwork seems to touch on her country’s past and present political and social history.”
Director Sara Serna added: “Each part of the video was designed and animated in cut out style, handmade and lo fi combined. The idea was to create a chaos of paper, using plants and dark animals, along with some details of the band in between.”
