Field Music share video for 'Disappointed'

Field Music have just shared a video for recent single ‘Disappointed’ (taken from their top 40 album Commontime). “We filmed these bullet time sequences on a freezing January day in the sports hall of the Sans Street Youth and Community Centre (thanks to them!), which is in the East End of Sunderland,” says director Andy Martin. “Pete and Dave (Brewis) used to play football there when they were younger, and I think their Mum used to work there.” Check it out below:

Record Store Day 2016 - Field Music and The Go! Team reissue classic albums

We’ve got two exciting reissues for 2016’s Record Store Day.

The Go! Team burst onto the scene back in 2004 with their debut album ‘Thunder, Lightning, Strike’ putting the disco in discordant and red limiting all the levels. They scored Pitchfork Best New Music with their debut LP and, from a small bedroom concern in Brighton, emerged to take on the world. Now lovingly restored to its original glory by main man Ian Parton, the ‘Thunder, Lightning, Strike’ LP is reissued for the first time since 2005 in the form its creator intended. It comes on red and yellow swirl vinyl (with download code).

Field Music’s debut 2005 LP has long been out of print, having had only one pressing of 500 on its original release. At the time, the band listed an array of apposite and conflicting influences (The Left Banke, My Bloody Valentine, Stravinsky, Thelonious Monk, Stax & Atlantic R&B, Big Star, Jimmy Smith, Serge Gainsbourg, The Neptunes and Duke Ellington) but listening back now, you can hear that Field Music’s own distinct sound arrived fully formed. ‘Field Music’ comes on heavyweight blue vinyl with download code.

In related Record Store Day news Menace Beach’s ‘Tastes Like Medicine’ will appear on a compilation of singles from Too Pure’s acclaimed singles club.
