MIlagres Glowing Mouth Out Monday

Having knocked people out (figuratively, you understand, they’re gentle lads) on their recent debut UK shows, Milagres’ Glowing Mouth hits the shelves this coming Monday. But if you’re London based, you can grab it early by heading to Rough Trade West on Saturday, where they’ll also be playing an intimate, acoustic show.

Welcome to The Cornshed Sisters

A huge Memphis welcome to The Cornshed Sisters. We’ve known this lovely North East band for some time, since seeing them play Tapestry a couple of years back, but they’ve knocked us out with their splendid recordings that are reminiscent (and we borrow from a far better wordsmith than us) of a Disney adaptation of The Wicker Man.

The forthcoming album, slated for an April release, was produced by a certain Peter Brewis, of Field Music, and contains wondrous tales of waterbabies, beekeeping, marriage, soothsayers, men in sequined suits, making pies out of people and the axis of love and bombs.

Frankie Rose announces new album 'Interstellar'

Frankie Rose – ex-Vivian Girl, Dum Dum Girl and Crystal Stilt is all set to release second album ‘Interstellar’ on 19 March 2012, preceded by single Know Me on 30 January.

Frankie created one of the most breathlessly compelling girl-pop albums of the past few years – 2010’s Frankie Rose and the Outs – but this time she offers the listener something strangely other, as alien as it is familiar, as compelling as it is enchanting.  It’s out with the reverb and in with something altogether more glam, glittering, shivering.
