Mailhini share new single "Miss"

London x Rome duo Malihini (Giampaolo Speziale and Federica Caiozzo) have shared their second single “Miss” premiering via DIY. The single was produced by Richard Formby (Wild Beasts, Darkstar, Ghostpoet).

“”Miss” is a love song, containing memories and hopes and fears,” say the band. “When we were writing it we found ourselves in one of those rhythmic loops. A loop that felt tribal, almost. We scrambled some words together and they came out so naturally it felt like we were exhaling the lyrics rather than writing them.”

“Richard Formby was a lot of fun to work with, he goes deep into the songs and generates layers where you couldn’t imagine there being layers. He’s a lovely human, too.”

Dutch Uncles - 'Big Balloon' (British Sea Power remix)

Dutch Uncles and British Sea Power have released an exchange of remixes. Robin from Dutch Uncles has remixed British Sea Power’s ‘Keep On Trying’ and Martin Noble from British Sea Power has remixed Dutch Uncles ‘Big Balloon’.

“Martin and I met last year at the FAMLAB event in Manchester and we discussed the idea of a remix swap ahead of our new albums’ releases over several pints of IPA,” says Robin Richards. “I’d already heard Martin’s remix of ‘Big Balloon’ before I started on the ‘Keep On Trying’ remix and really liked the Talk Talk vibes they had channelled. I decided to again dip into 80s influences for our remix and arranged a Tears For Fears-esque, dramatic chord sequence to fit with the lead vocals, supplemented with some Italian house piano for good measure.”
