The Go! Team share video for 'Semicircle Song'

THE GO! TEAM have shared the video for Semicircle Song via NPR First Watch. Taken from new album ‘SEMICIRCLE’ (out 19 January), the video was made by Go! Team main man Ian Parton along with his neighbour Bosie Vincent and was partially filmed partly during the album recording sessions in Detroit.

As Ian explains:

“We were looking to make something that takes the marching band feel of the song and puts it through a kaleidoscope – something trippy and Technicolor, making geometry out of everyday patterns. I found this marching band in Jacksonville who had the best bright purple and red costumes and we arranged to film with them just a week before the floods hit. The vocals for ‘Semicircle song’ were recorded in Detroit with a bunch of teenagers who we were filming as they were singing – so the footage in the video were the actual takes that made it onto the record.”

New album SEMICIRCLE is out 19 January 2018 via Memphis Industries, you can pre-order the album on limited edition neon pink vinyl, CD, cassette and digitally, as well as in bundles that include a signed test pressing, vinyl slipmat and badge set. On top of this, Rough Trade have an exclusive green vinyl edition of the album.

The Cornshed Sisters have shared a new track ‘Honey and Tar‘ ahead of their forthcoming album of the same name – which is released next week. They’re also the cover stars of the november edition of NARC magazine.

New track ‘Honey & Tar’ is a beguilingly delicate folk number that deals with the feeling of being separated from a loved one and the subtle reminders that keep those emotions flooding back, as Jennie Brewis explains:

“The title track is about feeling an overwhelming loss when you’re separated from someone you love and how sense of smell triggers strong emotions and memories.”

The Go! Team Announce New Album ‘SEMICIRCLE’ + Share New Single ‘Semicircle Song’

THE GO! TEAM are back with a brand-new album, SEMICIRCLE out 19 January 2018. They have shared the first track from the album, the ebullient, heart-warming ‘Semicircle Song’.

‘Semicircle Song’ is the result of a pilgrimage to Detroit – city of Motown and The Stooges, of musical (and actual) revolution – and a hook up with The Detroit Youth Choir. Team lead Ian Parton says of the song:

“With ‘Semicircle Song’ I was trying to take the technicolour feel of a marching band into a more psychedelic place, reclaiming that sound from patriotic or sporty bullshit and harnessing its toughness and power.”
